    Night nappies

I know this has been asked heaps (i think I started a thread ages ago!) but I'm meant to be getting ready, not set here on BB still in my pj's!

So, what night nappy do you recommend for a heavy wetter. currently we use 2 terry flats, a bbh bamboo booster and bbh PUL cover (i know pul is a no-no). The prob is dd leaks through this most nights. Its been one of these things that I've been trying to get round to for a while, but with no money etc to spend on nappies its been hard.

I popped into Natures Cradle, and she recommended a Cushie tushie, with boosters or another brand (it was a white nappy with multicoulored stiching, can't remember the name).

Would a cushie tushie be a good choice? I want to cut down on the bulk, as she gets babysat at the granparents a couple of times a week, and a big bulky night nappy makes it impossible to get her into the car seat.

And i quite fancy an aio for night (if there is one)

So girls, what do you recommend?

i used to find the GNST medium wetter was good for DD. Only everynow and then would we need the heavy wetter.

    Also woollen longies for fab!

even if i had to use a boosted BBB - the woolies made a huge difference.

BUt i was the same as you and hated the bulk - but she needed it .

Now we just do sposies at night - they both sleep comfortably and peacefully and i know there will be no midnight waking with wetness!

Cushie Tushies just haven't worked for us, even during the day, so I would only buy one to try before making a bigger purchase. My DD is 6 months older than yours and is a fairly heavy wetter. The best by far for us day and night is a BBH bamboo nappy and the BBH wool cover. It can also be boosted with the bamboo night booster but all in all is not to trim once all this is done and pjs! There are many designated night nappies but I haven't tried any yet!

I dont think a cushie tushie would do it overnight

if you are after an AIo try a genessa forge super night maybe? (havent tried them myself but have heard very good things)

other than that I highly recommend maz a licious night nappies and sandmans (from sustainable hemp products). These do both need a cover and i would suggest a good wool cover - i use the loveybums wool wraps

    hth!!

I wouldn't recommend cushie tushies for night time either. My DS is only 5 months and still has night feeds, so I change him during the night (at least once). Our best option with him is a Green Kids Anytimes with hemp insert and hemp booster. But that doesn't last the whole night.

GK anytimes with a bamboo insert, bamboo booster and microfibre insert are fantastic, and keep DD1's tooshie dry for about 9 hours. This way, I don't have to change her nappy during the night even though she still wakes for feeds. The only thing I would say is that GK's are quite wide in the crotch...

I just ordered a Bonnibums AOI night nappy, but it hasn't arrived yet so can't give feedback.

I second the woollens and the bamboo as the cotton terry doesn't hold much at all. Or otherwise fleece as a cover.
With Darcy I even used a pair of Best'n'less fleece trackies as a cover and never had an issue.

    Thanks girls!

I've looked at the Sandmans before so might give those a go.

I was also thinking of getting a BBH bamboo fitted and a wool cover?

MIght have a look at the mazalicious too?

Is a fleecey cover good for night? I'm a bit lazy and don't fancy having to lanolise the wool covers.

    My favourites are:
Bits for Bots pocket, and I stuff it with 2 Baby Beehinds night boosters. My lil man is almost 2 and a champion wetter. It doesn't need a cover. Velcro closing. Not sure where you could get these tho, I got them from the The Cloth Nappy Shop (website of the same name) in Underwood, QLD. You could contact her if you're interested.

Also, I love my EcoBubs Pocket. It comes with a microfibre insert. However, I found out that on it's own with it's insert, didn't hold as much as I needed it to. I boosted it with another BBH night booster (please note: these are unintentional plugs for BBH - my sister is a rep ) and it works beautifully!! It doesn't need a cover either. I've just ordered another one - from Arimeh's Clothie Bumz... (Thanks Mel!!)

I have only a few other night nappies, but these are my fave. I don't think the EcoBubs is meant to be a night nappy, but that's what I use it for.
