my cycle was cancelled last monday ( 20th) due to OHSS, they told me to stay on syneral till af arrived, and this afternoon when i went to the toilet when i wiped there was blood mixed with ewcm, i thought i might have been a one off thing and thought nothing of it cos af isnt due for 7 days, but i went to the toilet just before and same thing when i wipe there is blood mixed in ewcm
do you think this is the start of af or something else?
the thing is i stopped the spray on friday night, i just couldnt do it anymore the headaches were just getting to much for me.
do you think i am getting af or the spotting cos i stopped the spray?
i dont usually spot? never have? af just comes, so i am really confused cos this isnt normally how af would start, but then i suppose this hasnt been a normal cycle for me.
i dont want to ring fs cos i am scared there going to be upset with me for not being on the spray still
so what do u guys think? do you think it might be the start of af ( but why would it be coming so early?) or do you think it might be some spotting cos i stopped the spray?
sorry if this doesnt make any sense lol
for people that have had OHSS did your period come on time or early/late?
Different situation for me as when I had OHSS they still took me to EPU and just froze all the embryos. We didn't use any luteal phase support (just loads of other drugs to help with the OHSS, not sure they did much) and AF always arrived on day 8.
I really think you should call your clinic. You're paying them, if they treat you like a disobedient school child because you stopped the synarel too early, then you need another clinic! I'd definitely call them as OHSS is not something you want to mess with and they will know what's going on and be able to give the appropriate advice.
I'm sure it's nothing to be worried about. All the drugs can play havoc with your cycle. What you are describing in something I've had after most unsuccessful FET's. It could be a number of things - probably just your lining starting to 'come away'. Because your cycle was cancelled and no EPU do you still ovulate? Could it be to do with that because you stopped syneral? some people can bleed a little when they ovulate.
I had mild OHSS after my first stim - I dont think you have to worry in the OHSS department if you are not bloated, have weight gain or are in pain. If you have anything like this call your nurses please! Drink plenty of water and some sustegen.
i'm sure you wont get 'yelled' at for stopping syneral - call them and ask what they think is going on if it will put your mind at rest.
Hi M2C, I just checked my chart from my cancelled cycle and AF arrived 8 days after stopping FSH, I had also stopped syneral at the same time. I stopped injecting on CD15 and AF arrived CD 23, so I guess it was all mixed up, perhaps the same is happening for you. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best xx
It looks like af has arrived, but she is not her normal heavy painful knee buckling self! its more like a light af.
so i rang fs today and spoke to the head nurse and told her that i am bleeding and its like a light period, she said that its ok and not to worry, but i am not allowed to have my scan for a 3 wks, just to give my ovaries more time to settle down considering it was only 10 days ago that i stopped injecting.
so hopefully in 3 wks when i get my scan done i will be given the green light to go ahead and start the pill when af arrives wooohoo!!
thanks again everyone your all awesome!!!!!
fingers crossed my E2 levels stay under 25000 this time lol
M2C, you may have more luck avoiding OHSS if you follow a strict low-carb, low-GI, high protein diet. It's what did the trick for me on cycle three - only got mild OHSS with my positive pregnancy test, not severe spending-a-week-in-hospital OHSS like the others. I can send you the eating plan my FS gave me if you PM me your email address. It goes without saying that your clinic really should be monitoring you much more closely than they seem to, as well.
my clinic said they were monitoring me closely last cycle and look what has happend!! i was given 1 blood test and that was on day 6 of injections and my E2 levels come back at 2000 so they rang me that afternoon and said go and have another BT in the morning and if they have doubled then we will knock your injections back to 175 ( was on 200 ) so went had the test and they came back at 4000 and something, they had more then doubled. they rang me back that afternoon and said you have to drop injections back to 150 instead of 175 and that was all i heard from them till i had my first and only scan 3 days later ( day 10 of injections) and my E2 levels were just under 29000 and had 24 big eggs and like heaps of little ones. fs said if my levels were under 25000 he would of went to epu and done a freeze all, but cos of the levels being over the 25000 mark he wouldnt touch me!
when i have my scan in 3 wks i will be asking him alot of questions about the next cycle, i mean he has to get it right EVENTUALLY, i was on 100 iu of puregon and only got 2 eggs so he put me upto 200 and we get to many, you would have to think 150 iu would be the next thing to try right?? plus more bt's to watch my E2 levels. cant wait i have so much to say to him!
PCOS? What's not enough in one cycle can be too much the next. You can hyperstimulate with one dosage and then get nothing from the same dosage in the next cycle. This is why the diet is important - the more stable your blood sugars, the more stable your insulin, the better the PCOS gets and the more predictable your response to FSH injections. My FS said the longer you could do the diet before the cycle, the better - but we started the day I started lucrin for down reg and had amazing improvement.
My clinic started blood tests on day 5 and I was in pretty much every day after that. Even when things were going ok, they kept testing just to make sure (and it made it really obvious that my one slip from following the diet nearly cost me the entire cycle!) it stayed right. We'd drop the dose of puregon a little every day, too. The cycle that worked I started on 200IU and I think my last injection was about 25IU.
your fs sounds amazing BW, my fs has never mentioned anything like that for PCOS! all he keeps telling me is that i have bad ovaries ( meaning the PCOS is bad) i hate it when he says that, i dont think there has been a scan where he hasnt said something a long those lines, yeah ok i have pcos and yeah you seen heaps of it in my ovaries everytime you scan me, but really do we need the commentary!
i just recieved your email, thank you so much. i will definantly give it ago and i might mention to fs about starting the injections off on 200 and decrease it as we go, plus a few more bts wont hurt either!
Just be careful... 200IU was right for me, doesn't mean it's going to be right for you. 150IU and I don't respond at all... 300IU and I landed myself in hospital. My ovaries needed a biggish dose to get started, but once they start, they go like mad. If you've already hyperstimulated on 200IU I'd be reluctant to start there again. My FS was just really big on how lifestyle effects fertility... he makes all the overweight PCOS girls do the diet, but didn't think I'd have to. Unfortunately, I am of normal weight but my insulin resistance is extreme and my PCOS is much worse than it first appears from appearances. As I said in the email - the first week is hell, but after that it gets easier.
