Hand, Foot & Mouth disease ....

    Hi
My DD has been diagnosed with HF&M disease, and I know it is not a serious illness for DD but I am a little concerned about the new baby.

Has anybody experienced HF&M disease during pregnancy and is there anything I should worry about?

    Thanks, Tess.

    Hi there,
I caught this from my daughter when I was about 10 weeks pregnant. Little blisters on hands and a sore throat, which all cleared up pretty quickly. My doc said there is no risk to the unborn baby, so that's what I'm hoping. I'm now 18 weeks and all seems fine with the pregnancy.
Hope this helps, though it is best to see your doc obviously if you get the symptoms.

Thanks Nicoletta24 - yes it does help.

Congrats on your pregnancy - hope all goes smoothly.
    Take care, Tess.

    hi Tess

DD1 had it when I was pregnant and granted it was only a minor dose (just blisters on her tongue). I was fine but DH had a nasty sore throat. I've also heard there is no risk to bub and hopefully you won't get anything from DD.

    HI There
My DS1 had this when i was preg and my GP and OB looked into it for me. GP thought it may be an issue for the baby but OB assured us it was all ok if i did catch it. I di get it very mildly and had no issues whatsoever with the rest of the preg (and my DS2 is a perfectly happy and healthy 4 week old now).

Thanks ladies - it is good to hear it is quite a common disease for the little ones. I am trying to avoid catching it but when DD just wants a cuddle all the time how can you say no.

Congrats on the DS2 preagainpan - enjoy those early days.

Hi Tinsel - looking forward to meeting the little one. Hope you are all well.
