Free Insulation!

I am so excited, our house has no insulation and now thanks to a new part of the stimulus package we get it for free!!
Apparently now under new rules the installer claims the cost from the givt so you don't have to pay anything. Your house has to be over 6 years old, uninsulated and you cannot have already claimed the solar power rebate. You get up to $1600 worth which according to our installer is about the size of a 3 bedroom house.
I know its boring but I can't wait! Everyone says we will really notice the difference, its getting put into tomorrow.

the rebate thingy is awesome, we got the old part of the house done a few months ago. Its quite large so our out of pocket costs were a little bit more AND we could only claim the renters one ($1000) but we got the R4 insulation. If we were the owners we would have been out of pocket by $100.

To be completely honest it hasn't made too much of a difference that we can notice - Summer will be the best measure though, old homes in winter seem to be cold no matter what
