I recall there being a few people on methotrexate, and I'm hoping I can get some opinions on what to do here.
I've been sick with a sinus/chest infection for weeks. I've already had two courses of antibiotics (back to back) with some improvement. I continued to improve when the antibiotics were finished... until today. We are now snot central once more and the coughing from the chest infection is harder on my pelvic floor than pregnancy was!
Back to the GP, another prescription for antibiotics (this is likely to be rounds three and four).
My GP's instructions were to keep taking the methotrexate as normal and not to stop or skip a dose. But I'm just not getting better. My immune system has never been the best even before we started, and I wake up a lot sicker the morning after taking it then slowly get better during the week.
My GP's argument is that it can take some time to get the arthritis under control again after skipping only one dose. But what's the point of having the arthritis in a good state if I'm too bloody sick to do anything!
Tomorrow night is MTX night... What would you do - take it, or skip it?
