I need help in working this out CCB!!!

o.k i have 2 kids in care non school age

    104.5% for both children
one child is in for 24 hours a week another for 16 hrs. The child care charges hourly $5.60 and 30 cents out of that figure an hour goes to the daycare scheme.

my day care lady worked this out for me
    24 hours x $5.60 = $134.40
    CCB 104.5% = $120.38
    weekly parenting fee $14.02

    16 hours x $5.60 = 89.60
    CCB 104.5% = $80.25
    Weekly parenting fee = $9.35

today she says to me that if i put them in for a few more hours weekly my cost per week could drop down is this true? Im confused im allowed 50 hours a week and how did they come up with those figures?

CCB is based on a percentage of a basic rate (something in the range of $3.50 per hour - it might be higher for FDC) - so, having two kids in care, you get 104.5% of that amount (so a little over 3.50 - or whatever the FDC limit is)

putting them in care extra hours won't cost you any less - it can't physically work out to cost you less! how can it? i'd be asking her to explain HOW she thinks putting them in care more (hence having to pay your out of pocket expenses for those hours) would cost you LESS! essentially you're always going to have out of pocket expenses and will always have to pay those expenses
