Someone told me the other day that there is a 24 hour child care centre in Adelaide... does anyone know anything about it? What it is called, where it is etc. I can certainly see the benefits of such a place for single parent shift workers...
A few years ago here in vic they were talking about it and I think one did offer overnight in Vermont. I'm not sure how successful it was because I think it just does the usual hours now.
There used to be a 247 centre in adelaide near the markets, We used to live on the same street and it was really handy for a lot of people. I can't remember the name or if it is still open, but I'd check the city child care centres as some of the others also stay open later as well...
Feeb - I hear you! The creche at work is open 0645 to 1800. Great if you're on the early shift... not so great if you're on a late or nights... When DH goes away with Defence, it is a down right PITA! I usually have to get family over to help out.
There is a centre in Bentleigh East that advertises as being able to provide 24 hour care if required - I am not sure how/if this actually works or happens. Hard to manage care with shift work, you girls do a great job!
Mother Goose I so so wish our work had a creche it is so crazy that they dont!!!! Maybe by time I go back after number 2!! Lol I can only hope
FDC in our area has a crazy long waiting list and when i enquired was told not that many work out with normal hours so still wouldnt help as DH can not guarantee being home by a specific time.
There used to be a 24hr centre in VIC (Stud Rd, Scoresby) but it was shut down cause too many parents abused it for social reasons..... nice of them to ruin it for the ones that really need it.
