    Safe Skincare & Make-up-Please help!

    Hello,

I need help! I am currently TTC so while doing that I am eliminating all unsafe skincare and makeup products so I am prepared. All the information I am reading is driving me insane. I am not using any BHA or salicylic acid or Retinol type ingredients but should I go as far as to not use parabens and propylene glycol? (which are in so many moisturisers and make-up). It is so confusing! On top of that there are essential oils in so many natural products and it is advised to stay away from them too.

I've manged to find skincare that is reasonable with no parabens in it but make-up is another thing. Mineral make-up doesn't like me as I have oily skin and I find once the oil breaks through I look terrible! I am used to wearing Revlon Colorstay but the one I use has Retynil Palmitate in it so I am avoiding it.

any help would be appreciated as the confusion is doing my head in .

    thanks alot

    Hey there
What skin care products do you use at the moment?
Alot of times an oily skin type isn't just an oily skin type. So many people have oily skin because the products they use actually strip the natural oils from the skin (sebum), , which then basically tells the body to produce MORE sebum to lubricate the skin, which in turn makes your skin too oily.

If you use a decent cleanser and skin care range you will find the oilyness settles down.

google search organic spa . com . au for a fabulous skin care range that is certified organic and used 100% naturally derived ingredients. Also australian made and owned which is always nice too! I swear by it. PM for more info on it

    Hi Dee,
thanks very much for your advice. I am aware of not overstripping my skin and am using some natural products - cleanser and moisteriser which were recommended by a naturapath. Have only been using them a couple of days but I am so far happy with them.

I think my skin is having withdrawals from the combination of being on a brand of the pill which was for acne/oily skin (which I have been off for months now) and also having to stop using the only foundation make-up which controlled oil and gave my face a matte look all day. finding replacement products without spending too much money is proving difficult.

I am trying hard to not use any products containing parabens but all the information about what to use and what not to use is making my head spin. I've seen belly creams in stores which have parabens in them! I'm not sure how far I should be taking it all.

Thanks again for your input. I will look up organic spa. I am unable to PM you so thank-you for your help

I saw in the last priceline catalogue a new organic skin care range. It was aimed at teenagers. Im not sure what it was called though because I have since thrown out the catalogue

MiEssence stuff is really good - many BB girls swear by it!
