    High temp for 24hrs+

We have an apt to see our GP tomorrow morning, but just wondering whether I should be concerned at all...
DS has had a high temp - 38-39.5 - for the past 24 hours, though he's had a couple of doses of nurofen which brought it down (so hasn't been high all that time). He was very floppy and quiet at first, but perked up after a little while and has been eating and drinking (fairly) normally today. Vomited once yesterday but nothing since and poos normal. A bit sooky today, but otherwise ok.
I guess it's some sort of virus/infection... again.

DS ran about 38.7 for a week. Panadol and nurofen would bring it down a tad, but the Dr said it was just flu and he had to ride it out. I was sure there had to be an under;lying infection, but nothing could be found... So we just kept him as hydrated as possible and lots of body temp baths (his body temp) to try and keep him cool.

Hope you get an answer tomorrow and that DS feels better soon.

    Floppy doesn't sound good.
Maybe you should ring the 1800 022 222 people for more guidance.

DD has had high temps (up to 40) over one or two days at least three times over the past two years. No other symptoms and it goes up and down with Nurofen or Panadol doses. Every time I've been told 'it's a virus'.
Even when I took her to the ED with the really high temp, they weren't particularly worried and said the same thing. Still, I have always and will always, continue to have her checked. It can be a little worrying huh?
Hope he feels better real soon.

    Thanks all
He's been fine today really, aside from the temperature, so I'm not really too worried. Well, not panicking
He was floppy yesterday and we did call the healthline, but he's seemed relaitvely ok since then
