    Mirena & no period?

My mirena was inserted June 2008 and was having very light period since. So light, that i needed only a pantyliner. Last month, it's been very very light, to the point where it is non -existant.

    **TMI approaching**

Last month it was like i'll go to the toilet and find some pinkish blood on the paper when i wipe clean, may be some very little staining on my undies and that's about it.

I've just got my period and it is the same, just pinkish stains when i wipe clean very little on my undies. I hate wearing pads or liners due to thrush issues as most of you know.

Is this what your periods are like? If so, it's awesome. If not, do you think i should get it checked out? I have PCOS, so my cycles are out of whack when i'm of hormonal contraceptives but this Mirena is hormonal so my logic suggests that my periods should be relatively controlled and they have been.

When I was on mirena it was extremely light as well if any. Like boobaloo said I think its fairly typical.

I had hardly any period when I was using the Mirena. I knew I had it because I would get a bit raggy and get some lower back pains but that's all. There was no bleeding. It was wonderful until it fell out.
I keep meaning to get a new one. It's on my 'to do' list....

very normal. and is sometimes a contributing factor as to why people choose it

mine was great i only had 3 periods well what i would class as one 9 needing a pad for 2 days) in 2 years. otherwise just a bit of spotting each month nothing to concern me tho.

    oops, missed this....
I have no idea how it fell out. First I knew of it was when I got a normal period and freaked out. My Dr did an ultra-sound and couldn't find anything. You'd think that you'd notice something like that wouldn't you

I got a new one today - let's hope that it sticks this time.

My 'period' if you could call it that is exactly the same as you decribed. And I've had mine for 16 months now.

Having no period is a huge contributing factor for my decision to get one next month, woohoo!!! Bring it on!

I had a Mirena prior to DS#3 and after 6 months when it finally settled i had absolutely no period whatsoever - it was fantastic !
