Question Who Said "No More!" After Their 2nd Bub, But Then Changed Their Mind?

When I was a kid I imagined having at least 3 kids.

My husband and I had a daughter after 15 months of trying and loved it, but waited 12 months before trying again.

It took us nearly 3 years to conceive DS and after such a long wait and 'obsession' to fall pregnant, some anxiety in pregnancy, painful (but quick) labour, breastfeeding woes and an unsettled newborn I exclaimed 'No more!', much to DH's delight. God bless him.

Now that DS is coming up to 5 months, much to my surprise, I have been having thoughts of another one. (Though I absolutely dread the TTC drama's :0)

I'm interested in hearing from who else said 'No more!' after 2 and then went on to have more and did you have to convince your partner? What was the age gap? Are you glad you went back?

I had 2 then said NO MORE! and now I'm pg with #3.....but I have since been divorced and now re-partnered, so circumstances are a bit different to yours

My older boys are 17 and 15 so there's a substantial gap!

Am I glad I went back...yes so far although it's a bit scary the big gap kinda makes it feel like the first time and things are a bit different now all the do's and don'ts have changed.

Good luck with making your decision

    Thanks Willow and congratulations!

With our 4.5 yr age gap between the two I found it to be a 'shock to the system' for me and like starting over, but my SIL has 3 kids and a 9 year gap between the last one and has loved every minute She also has 3 very enthusiastic baby sitters in the kids, aged 14, 12 and 10

Hi AJP, I'm hearing you on the head and heart situation! I just can't believe my change of heart and it's all been in a matter of a week or 2!

Marlene, congrats on 4 and maybe 5 one day! It's funny how things work out

    My circumstances are very similar.
I was more than happy with my DS & DD... but then when I met my now DH I couldn't imagine not having babies with him and couldn't wait!
We got off to a difficult start but now have a beautiful little 2.5yr old boy and we're expecting another little bub in the next 5 weeks.
There is 13 & 10 years between my older 2 children and my 2.5 yr old and there will be 15, 12 & 2.5 yrs difference between my kids and this baby.

We were happy with 2 and had decided NO MORE! Until I got unexpectedly pregnant with number 3.

We said no more after having number 2 - we ended up with the perfect 'pigeon pair', 1 boy and 1 girl and thought that was great. Then a year later I realised I wasn't ready to be done with having babies yet so we had a third, and said with absolute certainty that that was the last. Well here I am pg with number 4! We went from having the pigeon pair to now having 1 boy and 3 girls lol, but wouldn't have it any other way. We are definitely stopping after this one though - we have to. Five or more kids would just be too much for us, so DH is going to get the snip to make sure that we don't get tempted again in a couple of years.
