Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone has any recent info on Melbourne IVF fees for a thaw cycle. Also any info on what is involved in the cycle, time it takes and the chances of the embies surviving the thaw. I have 4 embies waiting, but am wondering how it all works - do they only thaw one? What if it doesn't survive, do they try another??
Any info would be appreciated.
I've just done my first FET - the first embie was lost in the thaw - went back to one cell from four. They then thawed the 2nd and its been transferred. It apparently takes about half an hour to thaw one embie and they keep going til they get one (unless its the first one which is great really).
Cost me $1262 (with PHI) and then I claim back from Medicare on that.
It was a standard cycle for me - clomid then O testing, bt to confirm O, 2 days later it was transferred just like its done for a stim... I have no follow up support as my P4 levels were good at O time. But often pessaries are used.
Its a pretty easy process compared to a stim cycle...
My thaw cycle with MIVF was $1675 i think or something along those figures. with the medicare rebate we got back all but $400 ish so if you are thinking about doing another cycle this year it may influence you to know the rebate after meeting your threshold

OOpps forgot, they just keep thawing until you get them suitable for TF unless you have asked for them to only thaw an exact number
