Does blocked milk duct has anything to do with sleeping position?
HI ladies,
I sleep on my back because my breasts dont feel comfortable when sleeping on either side. I found i have blocked milk ducts and can't help wondering if it has anything to do with me sleeping on my back? does any one know? should i change to sleep on my right/left?
I find that if I sleep too much on my front... kinda side but front if that makes sense then I get REALLY sore and blocked up on that side. I think that it all gets squashed. I don't get too many problems if I try to stay on my side without pressure on my boobs.
As the others have said, pressure on your breasts during sleep can cause blocked ducts, so back sleeping should help. Is there anything else that could be contributing - a bra that's too tight for example? Or has your baby just started sleeping longer at night? It usually takes a few days for your supply to adjust to this. Are you managing to clear the blockages ok?
thanks all for reply. I don't wear bra when sleeping and my dd hasn't started sleeping longer through the night yet.
My right breast has been blocked twice. I have been sleeping on my back only, so i can't helping wondering if i should have slept on my side.
