    Mirena - Experience's please..

    Hi
I have been to my gyn today and she thinks I should get a Mirena.
Only prob is that everytime I have had progesterone I have bulked on weight. I don't need any more weight gain.
I have bad endo and the pain from that is nearly all the time. Do you still get pain with a Mirena?

Any experience you have had would be great as I don't know what to do...
Should I get it or not.... I don't know what to do. But I don't need anymore pain or any weight gain.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hiya Chris,
Just a word of warning, if you google 'curezone' and search for Mirena IUD side effects you will find posts from hundreds of woman around the world who have suffered numerous side effects from this device and I am one of them. There are law suits apparently being made against it in the US. Don't get me wrong it works fine for some people my doctor included but if you are going to get it and read this first at least if you start to have any side effects you won't blindly carry on feeling terrible and not knowing what the reasons are. Some woman like me absolutely loved it but at the 2 1/2 yr mark my trouble began and it took me 6 months to connect the dots and find that site. If you have trouble finding it just let me know and I'll find out exactly what the address is. Please don't let me scare you off as everyone is different but I couldn't say nothing. They say forwarned is forearmed.
I had heavy continueous bleeding for 10 months then it became monthly and then eventually lightened which was great but right up to the 3 year mark I still had periods. I loved it for 2 1/2 years then finally realised that alot of the health problems maybe linked to it, so I started doing some research (during which I found the above mentioned website). I had felt I was slowly coming apart mentally and physically, heart palpatations, memory loss, fuzzy head, modd swings, baby like movements in my abdomin, reoccuring thrush, breasts SOOOO painful and lumpy I had to have a mammogramme and ultra sound at 36, low libedo, leg pain, migraines...honestly I could go on. I have friends too who I encouraged to have a mirena for their endo as well and they all ended up in the same way. Plese just do some reading, it may be fine for you but at lest if things start happening you will know it's possible that it could be causing it.
    Cheers Missy

    Thanks Missy
I think I have found the web site you are talking about. The weird thing is - I have alot of the side effects already I also have had U/S and mam to check out lumpy boobs, I have magor depression and interactions between my pain medication and anti depressant is giving me some other of the Mirena side effects..... and that is before I get one..... How will I be with one in??? with my luck it will be bad for me as I do not get on well with progesterone, I have had massive weight gain all three times a Gyn has talked me into useing it. I can't take the risk of another weight gain as the weight gian from the hormone I find it the hardest to move (it must be stuck on with super glue lol).

    Thanks for replying
    take care
    Chris
