Monash and Medicare Refund

Hi Gals

I am wondering how long it took you girls to get your refund back from your Monash IVF cycle, they claim it takes 4-6 weeks to receive a cheque back from m/c after ET, then once I forward this check they will forward my paid itemised account back to me to send to m/c, so I could be out of pocket for 8 weeks.

Last cycle I paid totally in full to skip the wait, however if the wait ends up being quicker than they state, I may go this way

Your experiences please ?

It was 2 years ago but Yes, that was what happened. Out of pocket for about 8 weeks!

8 weeks! I hope not...
Ive been told that if you go into a main Medicare Centre you can get it back straight away - not too sure on how that works though.

Loops, once the IVF clinic gives you a receipted account, you can go into any ol' medicare office, and the money will be in your bank account in two business days. At Monash though, you have to wait a few weeks to get that itemised account
