Advise on HPT Forelife and clearblue.

Hi,

I got my first BFP at 10DPO using forelife which states its 10mIU in strength. Well for the last few days the line isn't getting darker. Its still faint. I am paranoid as this happened last time and it meant the pregnancy wasn't viable and I miscarried.
This morning as well as using the forelife I did a clearblue digital pregnancy test which said "pregnant" when I pulled the cartridge out the seond line was pretty dark.
So I am just wondering what your thoughts on the forelife brand are? Do they show a strong BFP as the HCG increases? Or does it take a long time for them to show a strong BFP. I really expected to see a stronger line by now. I am 15DPO and worried the same thing as last time is happening again

Honey, having never got a BFP I do not know.

But from what I have read on here it can depend on how much die was in the test, the batch and apparently some test only ever show a faint line no matter how far along you are.

Can you get to a Dr to put youd mind at ease.

Plus I think that the clear blue require a higher amount of HCG in your system than 10mgl

Thaks for your reply Kylie. I have a referral for HCG to be done I should just go and do it today to put my mind at ease your right. I told my friend who is the pathologist collector Id see her on Wednesday to have the BT but now I don't know if I can wait that long.

If you got 'Pregnant' on the digital screen then that is a definite! There is no point checking the lines or the strength of the lines in the digital tests as they actually test a few other things so the two lines and strength of them are irrelevant with digital tests. Here is the info from the 'pee on a stick' website:

There are two types of midstream tests nowadays. The "old-fashioned" kind displays the dye in the results window for your interpretation, and the newfangled digital test reads the stick for you and displays the words "pregnant" or "not pregnant." Important: the lines on the digital stick cannot be read the same way as other tests. Two lines DO NOT equal pregnant. Both preggos and non-preggos have seen two lines. Let the words do their job and ignore the lines!

In simple terms, the digital test stick sucks up urine like a "regular" HPT. The test has a control line like every other HPT, to indicate the test worked properly. Then there is a "results zone" where a second line may or may not appear. Here's the difference: the second line may appear even if you are not pregnant, because the antibodies in the "results zone" are NOT testing ONLY for pregnancy hormone. Drumroll please. The "results zone" detects not only hCG (pregnancy hormone) . . . but also LH (luteinizing hormone.) LH is found in women's bodies almost all the time in some quantitity. (See the Fertility Info section for the nitty-gritty.) So, depending upon where you are in your cycle, how much LH your body produces normally (which can be thrown off by conditions like PCOS), you may see a second line even when there is no hCG ("Not Pregnant.")

This might help to put your mind at ease too

The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!
