How to tell if chicken is off.. quick replies please

ok so I have nothing else whatso ever for dinner but this chicken.

How can I tell if it is off? It has a slight funny smell but I also hate the smell of raw meats. It does feel a touch slimy..

Was bought 2 days ago and has been in the fridge. Is chicken thigh fillets..

Otherwise kids will just have to wait till Dad gets home.. sigh.. 2 hours away still and they are hungry NOW

if it is whiffy and slimy I would steer clear....normally I would say it'd be ok only being 2 days old but I bought some last week that was off when I got it home

If it smells funny I would not use.

DH says I am very wasteful but better safe than sorry I say.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to chicken, I agree with the other posters if it smells funny and is slimy chuck it!

I agree, it shouldn't smell yucko. But if it has just a hint of a smell I would probably still use it and make sure I cooked it well and truly. But if you're not confident it's best to chuck it out, I guess.
Natty is having raisin toast for dinner tonight, LOL! (She had lunch at 2:30pm ) And I'm just having pasta & veg with pesto...
