    What should an Epipen cost?

DD's pens are almost expired. When she was diagnosed last year, we were given two at around $30 from memory, but I know they are a lot more expensive than that.
Do you get any money back with Medicare? We do have private cover, does that help at all usually?
Would really appreciate any advice from anyone with experience!
    Cheers

i dont know for sure but at a workshop held by the ambos last year i remember he said that you can get one for free and you have to pay for the rest which are around $80 from memory.. duno how truthful that is though. hope someone else can help you out more. you could probably call the pharmacy and ask over the phone.

They used to be about $100 each but I have been told they are now cheaper. However, MIMS (drug book for medical staff - online version) still has them listed as $106!!!! I would check with the pharmacist and see if there is a cheaper option. Good luck!!

Hi hun - my DS1 has EPIPENS and every year we have to update them too ...

beginning of this year - you get two subsidised so cost us from memory $40 for two - but we need an extra one for after school care and an extra one cost us $119.00.

But, small price to pay in the long run should anything happen

    Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone. I certainly don't mind paying whatever since it's a life and death thing, but it sure would be nice to save money if I can! Probably a good idea to budget it in at full cost for now I guess.
I'll check it out with the pharmacy next time I'm there.
