    Acting unwell

    Hi all

Just looking for a bit of advice. Ds has been a bit off today. He is very sleepy and has already had three sleeps today which is unusual for him. He also looks like i feel when i dont feel well, kinda spacey if that is even a word. He is very sooky and wont let me put him down which is also very unusual for him. He is warm to touch but no temp. He isn't showing any signs of illness like pulling ears, sniffles etc and i have had a feeling he has been teething so maybe its just teeth but im a bit concerned. Can teething give these kinds of symptoms or could it be something more? Would you take him to the doc or wait and see?

    TIA

I would probably call nurses on call (or your state equiv) if I was concerned, just in case. It sounds like he is just not feeling well for some reason- maybe a little bug, maybe teething pain. Is he still having his breastmilk/bottles like normal? My dr's mantra about kids under 1 is that as long as they are still on their food, nothing too terrible can be wrong with them. If he's still feeding ok, I wouldn't be too concerned- just give him lots of cuddles and keep up the fluids. When DS is sick, I often feed him one of the baby jellies in jars which are mainly water anyhow.

He had his morning bottle and would normally have a bottle around now but is asleep so ill offer it when he wakes up. He had some peach and mango for lunch which he ate no problems, didn't want a bar of his veggies but that is nothing unusual Iv been offering water every half hour or so and he has taken that fine.

He sounds fine, but often our instincts are correct. Sometimes the sypmtoms can take a few days to show up. I know with my kids I would go to Doc and they'd give me all clear only to go back 2 days later and they had ear infection. My kids dont pull their ears with ear probs. I wouldn't worry regardless unless there's a temp or you start to feel you'd like someone to look him over. Other than that, prob teeth or an off day xo

Thanks for the replies ladies. He had a big sleep yesterday for the third time that day (very strange) and woke up pretty much back to normal. Still not a happy man but he is dribbling like a tap so i think it might be teething. If he is still off by Fri i will go to the doc just in case. Its so hard to know what to do. Such a guessing game with the little tykes!
