My 7 month old DS was taken to hospital on Friday by ambulance when he stopped breathing and his lip went blue while he was vomiting. Long story short, after coming and going to hospital 3 times he was finally admitted in the wee early hours on Saturday morning. Had a tube put down his nose into his tummy so he could be fed as he was dehydrated from 4 days of vomiting and dioreah.
Another mother in emergency told me of probiotics for babies that is great especially after a nasty illness like the Adenovirus. So when at the chemist looking for this I was shown a special formula for babies suffering dioreah. Its for short term only but I am curious as to anyone else who has tried it or the probiotics and if it helped?
Sorry to hear of all this, must've been very scary.
Im not sure of the formula, but Im a huge fan of probiotics. All my babies go on them as newborns. I would not get a commercial brand, but go to a GOOD health food store where there is a natropath on duty, and they will recommend some. The one my DS is on is called lifestart. My kenisiologist prescribed it to him, and then yesterday when I was at a health food store, the natropath confirmed it's a great one for young babies and toddlers.
Hope DS is well soon xo
