    Mineral Makeup help

    Hi everyone,

I want to try a new skin care/makeup range that uses 100% natural ingredients. I have heard a lot about 'mineral' makeup but havn't acutally spoken to anyone who has used it. Any feedback of suggestions?

    Thanks!

hi summer, I have used / tried quite a few different brands....I used to work in a pharmacy , so used to be able to try everything!
anyway, loreal mineral powder is really good coverage, but not necessarily "natural" in that it still contains alot of nasties. but the brush it come with is excellent.
revlon is the same, colours arent that good and the coverage isnt great. the brush it comes with is useless.

natio is better with less of the nasty stuff, good coverage, not a huge colour variation. the mineral blush is my fave in rose. they also do eyeshadows and a bronzer. (have to buy makeup brush separate.

The one I am using at the moment is called "nude" I bought it from the chemist up the road, fantastic coverage, no nasties (pure minerals, no talcs etc) doesnt feel dry on, can easily build up coverage if needed, comes in light , med, or dark , also do a bronzer and a finishing powder, have to buy the brush separately, but I still use my loreal one!

Just signing up to this thread- I've been wondering recently about mineral make-up and whether its actually worth it or not. I hate the idea of putting gunk on my face that is absorbed, but I'm not sure what is good in mineral make up and what isn't. Will be interested to see....

Yep I am subscribing to this one too. I have used Mineral makeup in the past and love it. I dont like wearing heavy makeup so mineral makeup is great. I am yet to find one that is really good. My friend uses ID Mineral makeup and it looks amazing she is going to bring it over for me to try next time she visits so I will try and remember to let you know.

I've been using the Nude mineral make up as well - bought it at Myer for about $40.
I love it. I don't like putting the creamy foundations on - especially in Summer when it slides off straight away - but this powder is really light on my skin. I find it gives good coverage.

I use a mineral makeup foundation from a company called Pur Minerals (google them). Its a natural mineral makeup, concealer, powder and SPF 15 protection all in one. I love it, for the ease in use of it. I havent tried any of their other products....yet.

I lurrrve mineral makeup, I have been using it for the past year and can honestly say I haven't had any major break outs or big pimples since I started using it!

I look for ones that are Talc, Preservative, Oil and Fragrance Free and that dont shimmer.

I have tried a few different ones so far:
    - natio
    - rimmel
    - i.d. bare minerals is def my favourite so far but it is a bit exxy $$ (about $80) I will probably buy another one to just wear for going out etc
    - at the moment I am using Physicians Formula Organic Wear, which I am really liking so far, good coverage and not to expensive..about $30 from priceline

I finished a 30 day trial of nude by nature mineral make up about 2 weeks ago (I sent it back within the trial period). I didn't like it. found it went on well but came off very easily and there seemed to be a lot of "sparkles" in the actual mineral powder foundation as well as the bronzer and finishing powder. Coupled with the fact that had i chosen to keep it it would've cost me $139.90 i didn't think it was worth it!- I now use Loreal and love it!

hi ella, I wonder if its the same? I know mine doesnt have any sparkles in it, otherwise I wouldnt have bought it! the bronzer did. mine was only 39.95 from a pharmacy.
    yep, loreal was pretty good!

I was wondering the same thing? the tubs say Nude (and they have a dark brown lid), but the actual product is called nude by nature - i remember when i put it on i thought id put just the bronzer on cause it was so sparkly, but i double checked and it was definitely the foundation bit. - even the finishing veil had micro particles of sparkles so yeah im not sure what was going on!

I've used Sheer Cover for quite a few years now. I love how light it is, that's what attracts me to mineral makeup as I work in a job where I need to wear makeup. Although, as light as it is, I find it tends to show lines easier...especially smile lines. That's my own fault with it.

I've been thinking of trying this Nude brand...that seems really good.

One thing I LOVE in the sheer cover range is their concealer - it can conceal pretty much anything...I love it, love it love it!!!
