I'm not sure that I give Nurofen again just yet, until I knew she had something in her stomach, because my understanding is that Nurofen should be given with food. Paracetemol (eg Panadol, Dymadon) is okay on an empty stomach though.

Is she BF? I tended to keep up with offering BM to my DS when he had the vomits, partly because it's food perfectly designed for babies tummies, and partly for the comfort aspect. Even though she could still send it back up again, some of it will absorb, and it helps to maintain her fluids. I guess that formula does pretty much the same thing, I'm just not sure about it cos I never used it.

Also, you can strip her down a bit to help her cool down.

If she goes limp or does anything unusual, I'd be whisking her off to the drs without a second thought. They deteriorate pretty quickly at that age, although the good news is that they bounce back quickly, although I don't know why I'm saying that cos I've just paid attention to the fact that she's your 2nd, so you will know more than me!!!

Hope she's better really soon for you though.

I wouldn't, just because you don't know if any was absorbed in her stomach or not.

I have just noticed she is 4 months old. I would consider taking her to the drs. Especially if her temp is high.

Is she BF or bottle fed? If she is BF i would be giving her small frequent feed to try and keep her fluids up. I don't know much about formula, so no advice if she is bottle fed, sorry. Can you give cooled boiled water? Is that bad advice? I'm not sure.

Hope she is better soon. x

I would definitely take her to the Dr.

DS only had the voms for the first time when he was 11 months old. A that time he was only having 1 BF per day. The Dr said if he was having any formula it should be half strength while he was sick.

Panadol is gentler on the stomach and is very excellent at relieving fever.

In that case, i would try a little toast, small sips of water and i'd give panadol in a couple of hours if the temperature was bothering her.
