    Bench top mixers reccommendations

Well i have been talking to DH about Bench top mixers.
As i have been baking and cooking alot more i would love to get one but they are sooo expensive.

Ultimately i dream of a kitchenaid but in all honesty - it is a dream.

I can get a Breville Wizz Electric Mixer through our credit card rewards... but wonder if anyone has one and can they vouch for it?

    thanks in advance!

Kenwood all the way - the Kitchen Aid really is useless and over priced

There are lots of KitchenAid fans in BB.... check out their thread! I don't have one but am considering it. A store locally said I could put one on layby and just pay a few dollars per week.

I wonder if Sunbeam still make them? My mother had one that lasted for about 30 years.

LMAO I guess its like anything... people have things they love. I know quite a few people who switched from Kenwood to KA and find it better, so maybe its just a personal use thing. I think the best idea is probably to go into a store and check them out, better yet contact a few stores and see if they are doing demo's with different brands. I've had a KA for many many years and never had a problem with it. I love the fact that I can service it myself not something you can do with other brands. I also love the attachments that I have So for me its not useless... its very useful

PP - I still use my mums old Kenwood - it is about 32 years old now and never had an issue

The KA I found to be weak, broke easily and couldnt handle the work load - and that was commercial model

Maybe that KA was a lemon, Lime I don't doubt the Kenwood is great BTW I had a Kenwood steam iron and it was fantastic until my DD pushed it onto tiles and it broke It's a good brand... but I think KA is too... from what I have heard anecdotally

Peters of Kensington (online shopping) was good... but after the recent price increase it's hard to find one under $700. ETA: I've just checked Peters of Kensington... they start at $725. PoK is a very reliable online shopping agent though.... I use them regularly.

Bath - I hear you, but we went through 3 of them... I just find them more hassle than they are worth and they are so expensive.

Lime: What did you make that the KA struggled with? Just out of curiosity... bread dough maybe?

Hun I have my MIL's old Sunbeam, but have been saving for my KA. I'm getting the deluxe red K5 model and I am getting the pasta maker attachment and am still debating the mincing and sausage stuffing attachments as well.

I have been saving for my KA for years and can't wait to get it!!!

Bath - yep doughs, couldnt handle the time facotr for the semi freddo we made, just couldnt handle the constant running for 30 mins and meat mincing - it couldnt handle the pig fat, even when it was almost already minced in itself. Just really disappointing
