I am 14 weeks 3 days pregnant with my first.
I have had two scans one at 6 weeks ,there was a heart beat everything normal. A scan at 12 weeks, heart beat everything normal.
Up untill 12 weeks i had morning sickness tiredness ,cramping
All symptoms went away except now i have period cramping that comes and goes , sharp pulling pain ,pain on both sides close to my hips, stabbing pains every now anfd then, all these weird pains,
The last two days i have had pretty much constant period cramping most of the day and hip pain with stabbing pulling pain
i am so scared that i will miss carry , i have an appoitment for a scan on monday but this is killing me worrying ..
I dont know what is normal and what isnt , what do you think this is? and what are my odds for a miss carry ?
Hi Shell. I'm not really sure what your pains are from... wish I could offer you more reassurance than this but I just wanted to say that all sorts of weird stuff happens to your body when you're pregnant, not all of it comfortable and chances are, it's just your body stretching and shifting to accommodate that growing little being in there.
I had AWFUL and excruciating wind pains that felt nothing like the wind pains I'd had before. Was unconvinced that it was actually wind pain but de-gas really helped! I also had nasty pains as my uterus stretched that kinda felt like period pain. Was convinced I was miscarrying, but had a scan to see a happy little bubba in there. Finally, the relaxin in my system (hormone that makes all your ligaments stretchy in preparation for birth) made me hyper flexible so I put my back out about 5 times and had a super achy pelvis that flared up if I walked too much or even sat the wrong way. All that hurty stuff and more (don't get me started on the sore ribs and heartburn!) and my bub was fine.
Of course, get it checked out - it's so much better to have a professional take a look and give you answers and reassurance. But in the mean time, please try not to freak yourself out with 'worst-case scenarios'.
Big hugs to you hun and all the best for your scan on Monday.
as far as i know sharp pains arent associated with miscarriage (i could be wrong though) they are more likely to do with the round ligaments. i had these when i was moving from sitting down to standing up and rolling over in bed etc. its from them stretching and the hormones while pregnant.
i also had some period cramping but it was not extreme, just the mild feeling you get a few days before your period is due.
hope everything is alright, try to relax (hard i know) but try and think positively!
I'm not sure about your cramping, but I had similar pain to what you were describing. A few times it would wake me up at night and make me double over.
My OB said that was my ligaments stretching and changing with the baby.
This is also my first baby and I'm just learning to go with the flow. There are so many weird and wonderful things happening to my body.
Its hard to say what is normal and what is not because everyone and every pregnancy is different.
I have had dull achy cramps like the lead up to my period all through this pregnancy, and have had stitches and stabbing pains that is associated with the ligaments stretching.
That said, I had really bad period type pains (like when your doubled over) with my pregnancy with Nikita for a few days and had no idea that I was in labour until I lost my muccus plug and had a show.
My miscarriages I had no idea until I was bleeding that I had Miscarried but then they were early miscarriages in the first trimester. I had terrible cramping pain going through those.
You have an appointment with your Dr so thats good, Its very hard but try to not worry about things. If you have ANY bleeding before your appointment then get to your hospital or Dr if they work on weekends.
So glad everything's looking good hun. Lack of movement isn't a major problem I don't think, except that it can make it hard for the sonographer to get a good look - my bubs slept through our 18 week scan and it took caffeine and me running up and down stairs to get her to move even a tiny bit!
I can't remember what 'normal' heart range is, but from what I remember, it is faster when they're really tiny and then it slows down a bit. Hopefully someone will come by who knows more about it.
Have you had a chance to talk to an Ob, GP or midwife about what you've been experiencing and what the scan shows?
Hope you're feeling a little better. Try not to worry too much. Big hugs to you.
