    Skinpr!ck Test???

    Hi
Olive is almost 11mths now and i'm concidering getting the test done as she has had a cough now for months. Recently she has also developed mild eczma on her elbows and behind her knees. DH was dairy intolerant as a baby and had asthma so I eliminated dairy while bf and she now has goats milk formula as when she had a dairy based one she got very croaky. I have also eliminated soy to see if that makes a difference and I think it did for a while with her cough.
I'm not sure about the eczma though as it a fairly new development so I think it may either be wheat or egg yolk intolerance.
Anyway I was wondering what age did you get the skinpr!ck test done? Was it traumatic for your LO? Is it worth it when I don't want to medicate Olive with ventolin or cortizone cream anyway?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Skin ***** tests determine allergies which are not the same as intolerance. I'm not sure if intolerances can be determined by a skin test?

As far as how traumatic they are, I would say DD barely registered hers. She was 12m. It doesn't take long at all (minutes) and there was no crying involved. It's really more of a scratch than a pr!ck.

If you are concerned about a possible allergy that may require the use of an Epipen, or doses of antihistimine for exposure, then it could be life-saving, obviously. If not, a trip to a good naturopath might be a better way to spend your money. Only you can know.
Wish you well, hope you find some answers.
