    Unhappy One feed left.... :(

The end is nigh... I was hoping for 2 years but DD is self weaning, since coming home from hospital the other day she had blatantly refused her evening BF, she hasn't had a middle of the day bf for a couple of months now, she will then drink about 50ml of milk from a bottle or sippy cup then go to bed.

We are left with just the morning feed, which I feel will be gone soon too.

I know I don't have much milk left, they feel very flat and empty, and I knew that this was probably going to happen after weaning off the Motilium, but I am now at peace and she will choose when she finishes.

It is sad to be at the end of a journey that was so hard to achieve, but I will take each feed as it comes as if it is the last so that I will not feel so lost when it is all over.

Big hugs to you . You have done an amazing job BFing your little one!

We are experiencing weaning at the moment too. Our last feed was on Tuesday morning and I think it's all over . I have shed many tears about it, but at the same time I'm happy he made the decision (albeit earlier than I wanted or expected).

Take care and good luck for the next stage of the journey

Your attitude is great. It is wonderful that your little one is choosing her own time and well done on coming so far.

Beema, I'm so proud of you! My DS weaned himself exactly the same way, we were left with the morning feeds and by 14.5 months he was done. Like yourself, I was pleased that he got to self-wean after all the effort we went through to continue BF'ing.

    Well done chick! xox

Well done on bfing beyond 12 months hun. That's great work.

This might not be the end just yet for you - my DS2 went for months with just the morning feed (and a short one at that). I felt very empty too, but there was certainly milk there. Whatever happens, good on you hun and I'm sending you lots of hugs

Beema, I hope you have a little longer to go yet (my DD has only been having two bfs since 17 mths and one for the last month, no sign of stopping!). But if not, you can rest assured that you've bf her well and long, despite hurdles!

Thankyou Jennifer , the morning feed is getting shorter, and she is upset when it is over, and she gets really crabby if the let down doesn't happen quick enough, I am not feeling the letdown as much, so hoping for a bit longer!

Great to hear your went longer with just the one feed

    Thankyou ezymay

Celebrate what you've given, and be at peace with what is coming to a natural end You know what you wanted for her and that's what counts so much more than things that are beyond your control!
Your DD is already at a great advantage in a society that doesn't even value BFing for 6 months, so you both rock

Complete rejection has set in , we have had 15 wonderful beautiful breast feeding moments , it is sad to end this chapter in our lives, but I am glad that DD chose when she wanted to finish.

Thankyou all for you support over the past 15 months
