    At wits end!!

    hi all

My little man (nearly 14 months) is sick again, he has a very crackly chest and wheeze. We have had bronchilitis (spelling) about a month and a half ago, and we were in hospital forf a week on oxygen and ventolin. He was going so well, now he seems to be getting it, or got it again.

I'm not really happy with my gp, he is great, but sometimes feel he is just fobbing me off, i am forever going to the doctor with him. I would really love to take him to a pead but my gp doesnt think it is necessary.

do i need a referral to go to a pead?

why does he keep getting sick I feel so helpless and jjust want him to be healthy.

It makes me so upset aswell, because he is such a happy boy when he is well and this knocks him for 6.

Also what are sure signs that i should take him to emergency???

Thanks, sorry about my whinge, but i really dont know what to do and feel like such a bad mother

Oh hun, I'm so sorry to hear what you and your little man are going through! My boy is about the same age and it would just break my heart to have him sick all the time.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answers to your questions, but I did want to give you big hugs and keep this thread bumped so that someone who knows answers can come in and help.

(FWIW, I would be wanting to see a paed as well. It just sounds like your GP isn't taking things seriously enough)

ETA: You are NOT a bad mother. Some kids just get sick a lot.

You need to go with your gut. If you feel you need to see a specialist then do it. If your gp won't do it, go to another to get the referral. He may just be having a bad run, but it could be linked to asthma. A friend of mines child got bronchiolitis over and over, to find out he had asthma. That may not be the case for your son, but like I said, go with your instincts.
