    Question VBA3C-what to do first.

Ok, this is going to seem really dumb coming from a mid. student, but I will ask anyway! We MAY be UTD...and I want a VBA3C. I know my body can do it and this time I will not be bullied into thinking otherwise!! I want to know what I need to do first. I would much prefer to go to somewhere like the Mercy but not sure what their thoughts on VBA3C would be. The thought of going to another private obst, scares me because the thought of finding one who WOULD support me seems like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Im not sure whether I ring a few obs that are a bit more flexible and and ask the midwife whether he would be willing, or I wait till I get BFP. I know many may say you an Independant midwife at home but hubby isnt too keen on it . I would certainly look at haing an IM at the hospital with me. Any opinions??

    Hi Hun
First there are no dumb questions. Personally I think that you would be better to wait until you are pregnant and until that time you could perhaps do some discrete enquires. Talk to midwives when you are on placement. You could also get your hubby to read a little about homebirth and who knows, if it is what you want then maybe he will come around after doing some reading.

hun i have also had 3 sections previously....and so desperatly want a vaginal birth (just 1!!!!) i don't plan on starting another cycle until the end of next year and i am hoping to find an OB/GYN who will let me at least have a trial of labour and hopefully the vaginal birth i sooo want.
Before i even think about starting another cycle i want to get myself fit/slim again....

Supportive OB's are out there - I don't know any in Melbourne, but I had a great one on the Sunshine Coast.

I'm going for a VBA2C next month, with an independent birth centre here in Tassie. So thats another option - see if there are any birth centres in your state near you that are not connected to a public hospital.

FWIW - I had doubts about my ability to birth a child vaginally after my first c-section, so went and talked to an OB about it, she cleared up some things and made me see logic, then I fell pregnant with #2, which unfortunately ended up being another c-section.

Nothing is impossible - you just have to find the right support

    Good luck!
