Bleeding split lip

DS has a few vertical creases/cracks in his lips that always look red and sore and today one of them drew blood. I don't think he is dehydrated as I am bfing him pretty frequently, at least 2 hourly. Should he be having water too? What else could it be?

some times cracked lips are just from breathing warm air and ur lips get dry try a little bit of vaseline or simular to hydrate them a bit

my ds got dry cracked lips as a bubba too

Possibly from dry environment - or is he drooling a lot - the saliva can really dry lips out. I would try a little bit of pawpaw ointment- that way if he licks it it won't cause him any issues.

Yeah it is quite likely that it's due to the dry air so I'll put some ointment on his poor lip
