As some of you know, my beautiful dog passed away a couple of months ago to cancer
We have another dog (he's 6yrs old) who didn't deal with it very well at the time, but seems to be really good now.
When Eddie was really sick, we had him inside for the last few weeks, and he had a few accidents as he was just so sick... there's one spot in my music room (wooden floors) where he urinated.
Leo (our other dog) is an inside & outside dog - and has never gone to the toilet inside before... but since Eddie passed, Leo keeps urinating in the spot where Eddie did.
Despite trying every different type of cleaning idea, nothing is working.
I realise he's marking his territory & aso it may be a connection to Eddie initially urinating there.... is there anything I can do to stop him?
He's not going there because he needs to - he always goes outside & doesn't urinate anywhere else in the house. Its never even very much, but enough to be a daily routine of me having to clean it up
he will be marking over his territory. If u keep cleaning it, he will go back there and do it again. Try blocking off the area all together. By like a bookshelf.. bricks.... something. That might help. Surley someone will come in here and tell u what all the stuff is u can put down.. like a deterant (eg, lemon peel, ajax etc ect) but it has never seemed to work for me.
Not sure if it will help, is an answer from Google... lol
to also prevent your dog from urinating in the house just scrub some vinegar on the floor. and they'll stay away from that spot they usually urinate at, The vinegar stings the dogs smell and it'll stay away.
Not sure how well that will go on floorboards but might be a good thing to try?
