Stitch like pain in lower abdomen on one side???? Getting worried!

I am not sure what is going on but I am 22 weeks pregnant and have had all day, whether sitting, walking or lying down, a stitch like pain in my lower left side. It worries me because i know this is the side my placenta is lying (which the sonographer said was low as well but not low enough to be a problem) It sort of twinges a bit like my ovaries do when I am due a period. I am not sure if maybe I hurt myself when I rushed inside after hearing the phone ring when I was hanging washing outside or if it is something wrong with the placenta. I thought it might have been an air bubble from trapped wind but I have had a serious bout of wind this evening already and it hasn't eased at all. (sorry TMI!!!!) I am going to go to the doctors tomorrow if it hasn't gone when I wake up. It is not crippling me. I am just aware of it. The baby is kicking away happily and normally so I don't know if that is significant. Has anyone else had this?

Thanks for your replies! I feel better now. The twinge is quite a small area and localised and has been around all day so I am not sure if it is BH but it could be a slightly pulled or stretched muscle from my what felt like a marathon sprint to the phone today! I also started running from the weird position of halfway through hanging something on line so probably stretched a weird muscle somewhere there. I am still going to docs though as I am taking no chances!!

Im getting this too because my bubs is sitting really low (gotta love no tummy muscles left lol)

its normally a nerve bubs is sitting on or kicking or stretching pain.

if it does worry you though make sure you ask about it at your next app or even ring the hospital to see what they say.

Just back from docs. He thinks it is a strain or stretch. He said the uterus pulls and stretches all sorts at this stage. He checked my urine for an infection of which there was none and felt my tummy. He was very pleased with the height of my fundus (I aim to please!!) I had checked my ultrasound notes and my placenta is not on the side of my pain but posterior so I discussed this with him and he said not to worry about the placenta with this. He was checking for appendicitis and found nothing to worry him (I cannot believe that me the worrywart had not even thought of appendicitis!! LOL!!! I am getting slack!!) So all in all I have been given a clean bill of health.

    Thanks for your help girls!

I had terrible pain exactly like you are describing. My OB said it was ligaments stretching. I'm just accepting that it is part of the normal fun that is pregnancy.

I found a wheat bag would help with the pain when it was very strong.
