    What's your sleep routine?

After my post and a similar post on children tantrums and bedtime, I thought I'd start a thread where we can get some new ideas on bedtime routines. So what's your dd/ds's bedtime routine?

Bella is a bit younger but we have a bed routin.
At about 4.30 I start to wind her down a bit - by taking her into our room and just playing on the bed and just relaxing. Then we go outside and wait for DH to get home. Bella then has a play with DH before he gives her her bath. After her bath she gets in her PJ's and sleeping bag and gets put down on the floor with her toys while I get her bottle ready. Then at 6.30 in the dot we sit on the couch and give her her bottle and she usually falls asleep while drinking but if not its some cuddles and then to bed for the night.

    Sorry prob no help!!

At around 6pm DD has a bath, then nappy and dressed (in her room), then BF with only the night light on and the door closed. Sometimes she will fall asleep while feeding. If she doesn't, I just burp her and lay her in her cot and she will go off to sleep without any fuss (unless she rolls over and gets stuck half way by the bumper like she did last nightBut then we just fix her up and she goes off by herself.

Dinner at 5.15, bath at 5.45, bottle at 6.30. Sometimes she falls asleep on the bottle, sometimes she doesn't. If she doesn't, then we put her to bed at 8.30. She usually goes down pretty easily at this time cos she's been up since the early arvo.

For her day naps too I tell her its time to go to sleep and ask for a Kelti cuddle - and she cuddles me, I rock her for about 5 minutes, and then put her in the cot. Most days she is asleep when I put her into the cot

I know some people would think I'm stupid for still rocking a 14 month old to sleep - but its our special time of the day and I really really like it. When the new baby comes I may not get a chance to get to do that, so I'm really making the most of my "kelti cuddles" now.

Close the curtains, pop ds in bed, read a book, pull the blankets up, kisses for ds and Humpty Dumpty, say good night and walk out. For night time, I tack dinner and a bath or shower on before that.

reading that, i think I have it too easy but it hasn't always been like that! Ds has turned into a pretty good sleeper lately **touches wood**
