    Eunice

Ok, so I'm not having a baby or anything, but saw this name today and thought, gee that's pretty.

In the same article I also saw the name Aurelia, and thought that was lovely too.

    What do you think?

DH's grandmother was Eunice and she was a real battle-axe ROFL so I would be put off using the name myself (not to mention MIL would disown us she didn't like her MIL at all) But it is a nice name. I have always liked Aurelia but it's a name I don't think I'd ever convince DH to have.

My grandmother was a Eunice. She died before I was born, so I never met her, but my Dad always speaks of her fondly - so that makes me like the name .

    Aurelia is beautiful too.

I like Aurelia - it's pretty. Personally I dont' like Eunice (even though I like most Bible names) because I had a sheep named Eunice the Ewe and that's all I can think of (word association) My DH has an Aunt whose name was Eunice but she hated it and changed it to Janice when she was an adult.

Theres a name in Arabic that is pronounced similarly, but its for a boy. Yunus (sometimes spelt Yoonus) is the arabic version of the name Jonah. just thought i would let you know

MamaP - nope definitely not going there! But I like to think (after recently inspiring a BB username change ) that I could leave the legacy of inspiring some new bubba names somewhere in our BB community! LOL

I used to really like it, before I was married. Prefer Edith or Enid now, goes better with our surname. Mum hates both, big plus (not that I want to annoy her, it's just that she has terrible taste in everything)
I love the name Aubrey for a boy - discovered it at about the same time.

Snuggly - Enid was at the top top top of my list but DH wouldn't have a bar of it so we got an Elisabeth instead. Enid has a nicer meaning than Edith.

    I think Aurelia is gorgeous.

Eunice makes me think of an old strict spinster... Somebody said it was a biblical name, but i don't know it - can somebody tell me a source so i can see what it is in Hebrew?

Yael - Eunice was Timothy's mother (New Testament) so I think it may be Greek

MD - I love the name Eunice - was my Grandmothers name.I wanted to use it as a middle name but DH wasnt keen.
I prefer the traditional pronunciation of You-nee-see to You-niss
