trying to plan a quick holiday for us
thought we could fly to melbourne and stay monday tuesday night...(get in late monday night leave late ish wednesday)
but looking at sites i dont know what to look for really, SO.. who wants to plan my holiday for me?
i need a room to fit 4 of us(we can sleep in one king if we have to) i would like cheap..
CBD just for ease of getting around..
thing we want to see are, aquarium, zoo and markets
im sure we could fit in a BB catch up somewhere!
do you know how much the aquarium is?
what do you think would be reasonable for a space big enough for us all?? wot if dont seem to give you the option of saying how many you need it for..
I've stayed at lots of places but I can't quite remember the names apart from the popular ones like sofitel, park hyatt, grand hyatt, crown... but I've also stayed at other little ones that were just as good.
I would say try and get a serviced apartment if you can with 2 rooms. Or somewhere with a big room that has a sofa in the lounge that is seperate? You can also get two rooms that connect and have a door between that can stay open at all times.
I've yet to find a bad stay in Melbourne, even for a budget price.
We recently went to the aquarium and purchased a voucher off ebay that is 20% off the entry price. (I think I just searched Melbourne Aquarium on ebay.) It only cost me 99 cents for the voucher plus postage. I think it cost about $60 to get in for me and DH (before the discount). We didn't have to pay for DS because he is under 3. I think a family ticket is about $80-90?.
Sorry I can't help you out with accomodation ideas.. It's been a long time since we had a night away
I just thought of a hotel that's very close to the Aquarium and was featured on the TV show Postcards: The Pensione on Spencer Street. Apparently it is lovely... the rooms are small but beautifully fitted out but very reasonable price-wise. Google Pensione Hotel Melbourne. They are located at 16 Spencer St. So right near Spencer St train station.
