A (very late) tax question

Hi guys, I know I've left this rather late but...
I left my last workplace in May, and didn't leave on very good terms and now they are refusing to send me out a group certificate, I rang them in August and asked where it was and they said that they posted it to my home address. I don't get mail to my home address and when I filled out all my employment forms I very clearly wrote down my POSTAL address as well.
So I gave them my postal address, again, and waited.
The group cert never came so I rang them again and they said that they are not going to give it to me until I return the key to the building. I don't have the key, I put it in the plastic pocket with my final time sheet. I told them that and they just laughed at me.
Is there anything I can do to get my group certificate without having to keep dealing with these people? I was under the impression that they HAD to give it to me.

Is your info already prefilled on etax? DH's was on there before we got the paper copy from his work.

Oh yeah, they DEFINITELY hafta give you your group cert - they may be fined for making you wait THIS long! WRT the key, do you have proof that you left it there, even just another staff member who saw you do it?

Definitely ring the ATO luv, let them sort it out

saslia- I can't believe I didn't think of that, I did DP's tax on e-tax but hadn't started mine because I didn't have the paper work.

sunflowa_girlie- I think I'll ring the ATO first thing Monday. Unfortunately no-one saw me leave the key, It was the last thing I did as I was leaving

ATO wont help you get it (i contacted them about something similar) can you go through all your payslips and get your final figures?
if you go through etax unless you get audited you should be fine using your final payslip..
