    Question Evin ... girl's name !!! ... What do you think ???

    Hi all,

Nah, before you all faint nope i ain't pregnant

... My sister's god daughter whom is her late 20's now is named EVIN and i've always been unsure whether i like or not, i think cause it could look like the word Evil first glance or a misspelled Erin (??) ... but i do like the sound of it Evin ... and it's certainly different (i like unusual names, though not wacky names) !!

So, was curious what do you lovely ladies think of the name Evin (pronounced like the word ' even ') ???

    Honest opinions here

When I look at it...I see 'Evil' straight away....I would also pronounce it more like Erin (with that 'e' sound) not like Even (with that Ee sound..) Do I "even" make sense!!!!

I like it the way it's pronounced, before I read that I thought it would be more like the boy's name Evan

I like the sound of it, though I saw Evil too. Maybe you could spell it differently?

I didn't think Evil - but did think Evan!

It reminds me of a name I was considering when pg - Eaven (ay-ven)

It looks like a cross between - Erin and Evan to me.

It is actually a french form of Yvonne.

It is also a boy's name of English and Irish origin. Meaning: Irish: a form of Evan

that said though - i am not a fan.

Nah, didn't see the Evil bit but I assumed it was suppossed to be pronounced Evan, which I really like for a girl.

I like the sound of the name, just not the spelling.

Eivan or Eiven looks nicer IMO - although perhaps seems more like a boys name when spelt like that. (Hmm, on second thoughts this might also look like a brand of water though?)

    Good luck!

ETA: hmm, now that i re-read my post, people would probably tend to pronounce those starting with an 'I'.
