I have just recently (as in on the weekend) suffered a miscarriage. In the days leading up to my m/c I noticed the skin on my upper body (sides and breasts mostly) getting more and more dry. I have no idea if its related, but it hasn't cleared up despite my best efforts and I'm getting seriously itchy now!
I've tried everything I can think of.... exfolating followed by copious amounts of moisturiser, body scrub with oil in it, rubbing baby oil over it, sorbolene, oily baths... nothing is working and its starting to drive me insane. I'm consistent in putting something on it every day, but nothing helps. If anything its getting more dry and itchy.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to fix it? Please help!
I am sorry to hear about your miscarriage
I am not very good with skin care but I was thinking if your dehydrated (from crying, lack of appetite etc) then maybe drinking more fluid might help. There is probably a cream at the chemist or dr can prescribe if its really irratating and I would avoid soap or bath gels etc whilst your skin is feeling dry and itchy. Maybe a QV wash instead. Just suggestions don't know if will help.
Thanks Emmy I'll try to drink more and maybe get some more rest... I forgot to mention I haven't slept since my mc started on Friday. Prob doesn't help!
After I had surgery for my ectopic pregnancy I had pustules all over me. So not nice. They were ok except the look till I squeezed them then they were itchy. I guess we all react differently to major stressful events. I hope it heals soon for you. Have you had dry skin before? If not its probably related to your miscarriage and the lack of sleep etc. Thats just my opinion though. Could be completely wrong.
