How do you do it? Feel like I'm dying!

I've seriously run myself into the ground the last few days.

A week ago tomorrow a friend of mine & I started getting up & pushing our prams through the grass for 5 laps of our oval, about 2 kms.
We get up, get the kids off to school & go. Then we sit around for a bit, then go do our house work.

Over the last 3 or so days I've been pushing it too. House inspection was supposed to be yesterday, so doing extra cleaning over the last few days.

Then stayed up a bit late last night dying my hair. But try to get to bed by 11. If not earlier. Problem is that I can have DD1 asleep by 8, DD2 usually by 8.30, but DS is usually running feral til about 10 - 10.30. Panadol had him asleep by 8.15 last night, but he's sick too.
Then I'm up at 7, half an hour earlier than usual so we can be ready for our walk earlier, but nothing major, its not 4am!

While I can tell I'm getting fitter, I can feel myself going down.

Last night the back of my neck was hurting, felt around & its my glands. They are all swollen & sore. I have a headache behind my eyes. The second time in the last week. I'm sore, but I like that feeling, means our exercise is doing something & the extra cleaning added to it.

I'm getting sleep. DS only usually wakes once through the night. 8 hours should be enough?

DH isn't here. He's away working. Haven't seen him for 3 weeks, probably won't for another 2, so he can't help. I'm doing it all atm. DS & DD2 are sick. Starting to think about doctors, sounds like chest infections.

Plus stress. Had heaps of that lately.

So tell me...how do you guys do it? How do you keep your house clean, kids happy & healthy & exercise & look after yourself at the same time?

    Whoa! That sounds intense!

Um. I only have one DD and DH minds her while I go to ballet twice a week. I was doing pilates once a week too, but I found it too much, especially since I can't predict those nights when DD is up 3 or 4 times (with teething/illness etc).

As for the house. I try and kick DD and DH out once a fortnight and give it a really good clean, so the rest of the time its just surface cleaning iykwim?

Go easy on yourself hun. You must be exhausted!

I agree that is full on! I struggle to add exercise into my routine, especially when we have little sleep and the kids are sick/teething (seems to be constantly here ATM). You are doing such a great job with everything whilst DH is working - that is a massive effort.
Generally I walk for ~45mins/1hr with the pram each day. I try and go swimming twice a week (this is a new thing) but any more than that and it gets way to hard to manage and I get too tired and run down. I am also in bed early as I find that I get too far behind otherwise but both my girls flake out early as they get up at a ridiculous hour and often don't sleep well day or night.
My house is cleaned once a week but often is messy for the rest. I struggle to fit in the
TBH sounds like you have got things very well sorted - and are doing a fab job. It is really hard when the kids are sick and you have extra stuff on. Be kind to yourself!!!!!

Well hopefully I'll have this bloody inspection today...which means rushing around again making sure everything is clean enough... Once thats over it'll be easier.
Oh & now that my rent is up to date (as of yesterday ) less stress again (recieved a termination warning last week, but wasn't far enough behind for them to act on it).
Think I'll try for a nanna nap today, but something usually happens to ruin it...

It's a myth, hun, we can't do all of that all of the time!

I only have one child (so I can't complain LOL). I work part-time (which means the house is not trashed three days a week). Because I work we get a cleaner once a week. I'm VERY strict with DD cleaning up her toys herself. And I kick DP and DD out of the house every Sunday morning for some me time.

And finally, I don't keep up! I've given up on doing everything even before my foot is out the door. Much less stressful that way.

Hope the inspection goes well and good on you having a lie down!

Inspection is done. Hopefully we get a new shower head & clothes line out of it
More likely new plastic bracket thing & silicon
Now...need to convince DS to sleep so I can attempt it!
