    wind pain

Our little man (who is three weeks old tomorrow ) seems to get the worst wind pain every two to three days. We are FF but he gets about two BF's per day (5 - 8 mins/side). We burp a few times during a feed (using different burping positions), have tried gripe water, massaging his belly with his knees (in a bicycle motion), etc, but nothing seems to ease his pain until he does a massive 'fluff' or a pooh.

Could it be that he does not like my b/milk? I am eating pretty blandly (trying to lose weight ), and I don't think he would be getting enough to make a difference?

    Constipation from the FF perhaps?

How do we get the air out before it gets stuck in his belly?

    Any ideas?

Have you tried using Infacol before each feed? I used it for DS2 and DD and it worked really well. Other people swear by Infants Friend.

Hope you find something that works for him soon

i used infacol before each feed with DS2 and it seemed to alleviate this.. though to be honest both my boys had stages with this (DS2 still does) when they were tiny and i think sometimes it is just their digestive systems developing.
Some things that have helped here:

tight wrap around their belly (warm up the wrap)
    deep warm bath
    bicycling legs
    holding legs up to tummy
massage of tummy - go around the belly button clockwise
being in a bouncer has helped both my boys to do a poo when they have had wind pain

Ive just had a chat to the chemist and infacol is now in my kitchen. Fingers crossed :O)

Awesome, I hope it works for you

Keep in mind that it can take up to 48 hours to take effect (although I found it worked instantly for my DS2 and after a few doses for DD).
