    Choking

So scary! DS was eating a peanut butter sandwhich today and he put too much in his mouth and apparently chewing was too hard, so he just tried to swallow it. He wasn't going blue, but he was kind of staggering about not making any noise, which frightened the life out of me. I turned him upside down and gave some whacks on his back. Took a bit of effort, but then this big gob of bread came out. I calmed him down and he forgot entirely about it. I was calm at the time, but now its like delayed shock and its freaked me right out!

I will be cutting things into itty bitty bits and watching him like a hawk when he eats now!

I know we all go through this. Anyone else with choking stories you want to share?

Poor you hun . That is one of my biggest fears actually, DD choking.

My little brother choked on a coin (forgot which one) but he went so blue and my mum had to put her finger down his throat and pulled it out.

She is still scarred from that because she would always lectures me about it and to be careful with DD.

Oh Amber it is scary isn't it, big to you. I havn't had any of mine choke but DD has gagged a few times and that's bad enough for me. Glad he is ok.

    It's really scary isn't it..

On mothers day we were at my parents house and DD got the clear plastic lid off a water bottle..

She had a cough at the time and took me a moment to notice that she was gagging, not just coughing. So upside down, with blows between the shoulder blades and it dislodged. My SIL (a nurse) and my mum walked in just as I realised she was chocking, and watched, ready to take over if I needed it..
