just a question wat happens if your DP/DH finds out they are a father to another child after the next relationship has started and had children in the new relationship? no one knew in this situation the mother only thought it may be a possibility

I don't think I understand??? A man finds out he has a child from a previous relationship some time down the track when he is in a new relationship that he has fathered children in also???
If my understanding is correct what do you mean?
He is financially, emotionally and spiritually responsible for the child just as he is for these latest children. It is about the kids - so therefore what is best for the kids. What is best for kids is having parents that are responsible financially, emotionally and spiritually for them.
The child would need to be introduced slowly to its father and integrated gently (I would advise with the help of a counsellor) into the fathers new family.
