    Wink your eccentricities/habits

Do you have any "strange" habits?

    My eccentricities are :
I have to have the same colour peg on each item of clothing (eg: tshirt = 2 pegs. Both will have to be the same colour).
The dishes are washed in an order. Cups, cutlery, plates/bowls, saucepans/frypans. Or in the dishwasher - the cutlery tray has only one item of cutlery per thing. (eg: spoons in one, forks in another)
We have 4 pillows on our bed, two each. We each have a thick and a thin pillow. I have to have both thick pillows with the same pillow case, and the thins have a different one. (does that make sense?? When I made the bed the other night when this topic came up.. the thicks had a white pillow case and thins a yellow one)

I'm sure there are others. I know my mum does the pillowcase and peg thing too!
Am I weird or are there others out there??

I do the peg thing too - you are not alone there! It drives me mad to see other people's washing sometimes! The only other one i can think of is that I can't stand things being squint - like pictures on the wall or cigarrette lighters in cars - they have to be straight.

DH has a stange one about volume controls - they have to be at an even number or if the volume goes up to a high number (our stereo goes up to 90), it has to go up in increments of 5.

    What strange creatures we are

Not sure if this really counts but We have our clothes line on our verandah. One outside line that goes aroud the outer edge and an inside line that goes around on the inside of the verandah.

I MUST hang all smalls (bras knickers socks and jocks) on the inside line and all larger items on the outside line so when people (well IL's) come up from the back of the house they don't cop and eye full of underwear.

The only other thing is washing MUST be sorted into the following piles, fluffy (thick socks, towels, tea towels and jumpers) Whites and lights, mixed colours and darks. I get really narky if DH mixes up the piles or uses the wrong detergent yes I have 3 detergents on the go for the various types of washing.

all my glasses are in perfectly spaced rows, as are the mugs look out anyone who puts them back wrong.
Squidi I do that to with the driving....my DH is highway patrol - I wouldn't dare not lol.

You girls all do stuff I do, including the tea stirring - and I have diagnosed OCD lol

When i hang the washing, the darks at the back of the line and gradually to white at the front of the line and hence my washing is done in that order.

My mugs, plates, pots and pans and have to be in order in the cupboard, all in a straight line and neatly stacked (if plates)

I take pride in hanging out the washing, so i HAVE to do it.

imnot really domesticated just yet, im not a feral or anything, but i know once i have this little gem it will start to kick in (so im hoping )
i too do my dishes in a certain order,
i have a tea towl and a hand towl in the kitchen, if you dry your hands on the tea towl or vice versa i crack it and have to get new clean ones out.
DH is actually much worse with this sort of thing, he's very particular and GEEZ it makes me laugh. im not kidding, i can move a pot plant (our house is full of fake plants and orchids) even just turn it a little and he'll come in and it wont be long before he notices.. "did u move the plant?" hehe sometimes i do it just to see how long it takes him.
and everything has to be (i cant think of the word) but he has to have it even, make sense? like the speakers on his desk need to be in the exact same spot opposite, littlew things like that hehe

I used to be a lot worse but I still have a few quirks...
Dishes are done in a particular order, peg colours must match if at all possible... solved now with all wooden pegs , when serving food/drinks, they have to be from matching sets, all plates from the same set, cutlery, all same glasses etc... when making tea/coffee - spoon for each different type of drink.

I like my stationery to match, all same brand of pen if I need pens of different colours, pencils same brand if different hardnesses etc.

    I think we're all a bit weird :P

I have a certain way of hanging out the washing. It takes me aaaages & if my DH does the washing to help out, I can't look at it. Not that he does it very often because he knows I Iove doing it myself so much lol.
Also used to do the whole peg thing. Pegs had to match the colour they were pegging. DH fixed that by getting wooden pegs

Dishwasher packing - I like all the bowls together, all the plates together, and with the cutlery bit teaspoons must be together, big spoons together, forks together and knives together, and only 3 pieces of cutlery in each section. Knife points also facing down - DF always puts his knife in with the point up and fork/knife together in the same bit and gives me the craps! It's just so much easier to put it away, and means I don't get stabbed by a knife standing the wrong way up!

Hanging out washing all undies/bras/socks go on the inside, then I work my way out from there. Our neighbours probably never even look into our backyard but I am so worried about *someone* seeing my 'delicates'!

We have a long-time friend of the family we used to go visit when we were younger. She had two gorgeous goblets on one of her dressers in the dining room, she would have them so one was standing up and the other would be lying down across the front of the other one. I'd always stand up the one that was lying down, I don't know why I think I just thought it kept falling over or something...Marj would always walk past and lie it down again, I would walk past and see it lying down so I would stand it up and on it went...lol. I just couldn't stand seeing it lying down!

Whenever I get a drink, it needs to be from a clean, dry glass, but I can't pour my drink into it while it's dry, I have to rinse it under water first The glass cannot be wet before I rinse it. And I use a new glass with each drink. Even if it only had water in it previously, it doesn't matter.

I can't allow ANYONE to help me with the housework. I do it in a particular order and in a particular way, and no-one can do it the same way. DH knows not to even bother trying, because I'll just redo all his hard work.

I do the exact same thing in the exact order every morning when I wake up. DD1 even knows my habits, and she does them as well. They are: toilet, make bed, open blinds/window, open lounge room blinds, clean kitchen/wash dishes, make brekkie. In that order.

Thought of more!! Cutlery has to be handles down in the dish drainer - including knives in case I pick it up by the blade accidently.
When I get out of the car everything has to be switched off - radio, cruise control, sat nav etc.
I can't stand wall sockets being switched on with nothing in them. I imagine electricity coming out of the wall into the room
