How soon does AF return?

Hiya,
Now I'm under the impression that AF can return quite quickly if you are formula feeding but could take several months when breastfeeding yes?
I'm fully BF my DD since her birth 7 1/2 weeks ago. Over the last week I've been experiencing mild period-like cramps on and off. As I suffer from PCOS my cycles were never regular to start with and often AF was only light and spotty. I'm wondering if last week's spotting was a first AF (is that possible if I'm BF?) or continuation of the post-partum bleeding? Or could it have somehting to do with starting the mini-pill last weekend?
I'm confused! Maybe it was just my weird & whacky system being weird and whacky again!!!

I'm no expert but I would say that your spotting probably has to do with starting the mini pill. I went on it about 6 weeks after DS was born and my bleeding was just about gone, but then I had another 2 or 3 weeks of light bleeding and spotting. HTH

Thanks - yes that does help
Still not sure why it felt a bit crampy too but that's gone now - check with my GP at my next appt
