how does a psychic actually work??
what actually are they allowed to tell you? or not tell you?
how do you find a good one and how much in general do they charge?
AJP ... i saw a brilliant one about 6years ago, he had his own office on Collins Street, Melb (opp Collins place) ... he is so popular as he travels about the country doing readings & when i was sitting in his foyer waiting before to have my reading the phone was ringing like crazy with people wanting to make appt's. It took me 2mths to get into see him (i saw him on a Saturday after work about 1 or 1.30pm from memory). I badly want to see him again but i have lost his phone number, everything he told me then has since come true, just mind blowing the detail ... and HE was a very kind hearted & gentle guy (though very tall).
From memory he was more expensive than most i had been to about $80 at the time (i can't remember if that was for 30min or more and also he gives you a little gift bag with some goodies & a tape of your session she you can listen to it again.
My work colleges were great instead of my getting a usual gift voucher for my birthday they gave me cash$$ so i could pay to see him
I'm seeing a friend this Sat night in Melb, she was the one who recommended me to him back then (she & her older DD saw him too) and i want to see him again so AJP if your interested i can let you know if my friend still has his contact details
I'm going to see mine on saturday! I have seen this particular lady about 4 times now and she is really in tune with me i guess cause most of her stuff is spot on or pretty close. I dont make a list and check it off or rule my descisions by it but she does seem so correct on alot of long term things for me. For example, she told me in 2004 that i would get married in 2006 (i wasnt even seeing anyone then), she described places that we have lived in, she mentioned my husbands name and described him to a tea without me even saying anything (this was after we got married).
I guess they can tell you anything they pick up on that you are comfortabe discussing. She told me that a family member was going to pass away and that they would be in hospital for a long time and that it would be a 'nice; passing. 18 months later my grandfather in law passed with us surrounding him and he had been in hospital for weeks beforehand.
I kind of forgets whats been said in a session but its recorded and every year or so i'll dig them up and go them and think about what has come true or not. I tend to go for a reading every 2-3 years. She has told me that last 2 times that we would be very finacially secure, like millionares but i'm still waiting for that to happen
I guess you have nothing to lose if you go and take everything light heartedly. Colleen charges about $70 for 1-1.5 hour session - i actually found her through my mum as when ever she did a reading for my mum and she said stuff about me, it was generally true.

The guy i saw predicted i would resign from my job & when & how it would happen & why, he described my then present situation with work, how many children i would have & what sexes & in what order & when, he described my DP so well & told me of whether we would marry or not & if so when, he also described what work DP does & predicted his work situation too, he told me he could see a postcard with a sun, water & palm trees - months later we happen to book a holiday to Qld & our accom had heaps of palm trees (i hadn't been on a holiday in years & years), ... i asked about my sister (without my giving any info other than i ' have ' a sister) & he told me of her future which to date ALL has happened, ... and much, much more

(his office if he is still there was seriously only a 2min walk from Parliament train station at the Collins Street exit, if you didn't want to drive it in).
HI Ajp, MY mum is a white witch and "clairvoyant" she uses tarot cards as her medium.
she will usually meditate with the client in her presence for a minute or so, then the client shuffles the cards and mum takes them back, she will then meditate with the cards in her hands, this is when "people" or spirit guides usually start coming through, loved ones who have passed etc. mum will pass on any messages.....then the reading begins.
mum sorta explained it to me that the cards are just a guide, they can and do mean different things to everyone.
my mum has a bit of a reputation for being great (I wouldnt know, she wont do me!!) she charges around $50 and you get a tape of the reading as well.
mum and I both had a reading on the day of my baby shower with a woman who had been recommended to mum from a friend, lets just say mum ended up just about throwing her out the house! She was very negative, be wary of someone who asks lots of questions and just keeps throwing names and letters at you until you say something, but some of what she told me has come true.
hopefully the bits about my brother committing suicide and my partner dying in an alcohol or drugs related accident wont!!
take it all with a grain of salt, we all have "free will" remember, anything the cards or a person can tell you is only one path that may or may not come to pass.
Most "reputable" psychics will not give you negative information, my mum has been known to just say sorry, she cant get anything, and give the person their money back, if it was that bad. but it very rarely happens.

Jols, I saw a lovely lady in the September following Nikita's passing. I know her first name is Irene but I cannot remember her details.
She asked me to bring a picture or a piece of jewellery or something and a cassette tape, she taped the entire session. She cost me around $50 and there was no time limit.
I took the album that the hospital gave me of Nikita and she only looked at one picture briefy, closed the album and started the session.
Yes she did ask some questions but nothing terribly specific and certainly nothing that she could draw more information from.
I was there for something very specific - to make sure my little angel was ok and to know who she was with/ who was looking after her. My Nan was holding her, Irene kept calling her grandma and I didn't correct her then she said "You call her Nan". There were lots of other people who came through to say hello even a guy I knew in my early 20's who was killed in a car accident - I hadn't thought of him in years. She told me about a very big black dog that was there - we had a Newfoundland called Bodie. She told me about some of DH relatives a man with a heavy accent and immediately I said "Henning" and Irene replied "Yes and Annie is here too" - Annie is second generation Staben - its her wedding photo that is hanging on the fireplace in the lounge where you had Miss Milly.
I am not sure if my friend still can get her number but I will ask for you if you like? she is in Carrum downs I think.
OH she also said I would have a baby boy in November this year - ok so the sex is off but all things considered this baby wasn't "planned" and had threatened to MC twice ....
Sorry I have waffled but this woman blew me away with some of the things she said.

I know in the beginning you can tell him what you don't want to know ... his is very compassionate ... at the end of the reading he asked if i had any questions i would like to ask & he used some cards & his ability to answer them ... and don't let it freak you out but he at the beginning does try to or it/they just appears a person who knows you that has passed & they help him answer questions too.
Strangely rather that i have a relo or friend whom has passed i had a close friend her best friend's teenager son who committed suicide earlier that year of my reading ... he came through ... i had only met him once & it was clear his death was a huge impact on me & also the concern for my friend & she didn't know what to do to help her grieving friend. This spirit helped me heaps in answers.
Micheal doing the reading even described him as been a male in his late teens, died a tragic death & recent & he also told me my friends name who was connected to him ... just was so strange that this person came through for me ... So, yeh AJP be prepared for the unexpected ... all though i didn't find it frightening but rather comforting for some reason.
