Oh no TD!! I honestly have no idea but I really really hope it doesn't affect your surgery - I know how long you have been looking forward to this day!
2 days to go for my boob job and i get the cold
Don't have runny nose as such, but a sore throat and ear. I have a really sexy voice too!
I'm going to have to phone the surgeon and tell them about it, but what do you think are my chances of them cancelling it? Please say low!
I've been counting down for soooooo long now.

they will check you for infection - if its just a cold i think they will go ahead xxx
My manager is a chemist/occupational hygienest - and he said
I'm going to kill DH and DS for passing it on to me.
I'm just waiting for 9am to roll by so i can call. I am soooothat they will let me go ahead with it. I really can't wait another week or two (depending on surgeon's bookings).
for you...
oh TD I hope you get the
All the best!![]()
The friggen plastic surgeon's office ain't answering. So peeved off atm.
I dont want to sound negative but as someone who has had this surgery it could be a good idea to wait if you have a cough. Its quite painful to cough and sneeze after the surgery. Hoping your cold clears up and you are fine for the day. I so remember being so excited!!! Good luck.
I hope the surgery can still go ahead !
Can you take something like Echinacea and Zinc tablets to give your system a boost and try to keep it at bay ? Just a thought !
Goodluck !
xo
Oh no!! I really don't know luv, but I wanted to send infection-less vibes you're way![]()
No cough or sneezing. Just a husky voice, sore throat and ear. Not on any pain relief atm and am doing just fine. I do feel a bit hot though.
I called the hospital in the end. I just needed to know. They advised to still come in on the day and the anaethetist will decide. The nurse said as long i didn't have a rip roaring temp, it wouldn't be cancelled.
I'm at work atm, but will leave early today, see my Gp about some possible penicillin (if necessary), take the day off work tomorrow to rest up and see how i go.
I do hope i get better in time though.
Oh no! I hpe you get better quickly and the surgery can go ahead
TD - unless it is affecting your breathing I can't see it being an issue. We do people with cold's all the time - only when we think they have an infection or are having difficulty breathing do we worry. Get some echanasia and garlic into you girl! Oh! And some of my home made chicken noodle soup - will cure the plague it will! Want me to bring you some? I'm on leave and happen to have some in my freezer![]()
I'd love for you to bring some over, but what a looooong drive for you. Thanks for your offer. Mum is at my house. I'll get her to cook some chicken noodle soup for me. I will pop into the chemist too.
Honestly, i am totally fine, no breathing obstruction or difficulty. I just have a husky voice. And your expertise is greatly appreciated here hun.
I guess just a little too run down, a lot of things happening in my life lately, as most of you Platinum members know.
I just hope the anaethetist agrees too![]()
that you get better soon darl I know how important this is to you
My son had a similar problem when getting his tonsills out. The surgeon said exactly the same thing, it really is the anaethetists call on the day of the surgery.
He had no temp and his chest was clear and his surgery went ahead no worries. He even had a cough but the decision was made that it was more important to get the tonsills out rather than risk another bout.

ETA: Just be careful what you get from the chemist, it is important for your surgeon and anaethetists to know what you are taking even if it is just over the counter. I'd be inclined just to keep up fluids and rest. The other thing is some surgeons advise not having nurophen or blood thinning drugs before surgery. Might be best just to stick with chicken soup and a rest.
Oops, didn't know about not taking nurofen. I thought it was just aspirin and the likes. I won't take anymore nurofen either.
I was supposed to come into work tomorrow, but have decided to not come in and have a day of rest. Mum will be home with me, so she can look after DD whilst i just rest up and panic about the surgery.
Re: the fluids. That's all i want to have all day. Just water and coke but freezing cold coke and water.
echanasia is fine. won't interfer with anesthetics. Def stop neurofen!!!!!!!! I'd call your surgeon tomorrow and talk to them about the neurofen. Voltaren is another no no. But some surgeons aren't worried about it at all - at the end of the day it comes down to WHY you're on it. Eg. We'd never tell a patient on aspirin because they've had stents put in their heart to cease taking it because we're going to operate (unless we're doing brain surgery). Really depends on your surgeon for that one.
Good luck hon. I know you're nervous and excited. Can't wait to hear how you go!
