    Pro-activ

Has anyone used this? Was it worth the money and what affect did it have on your skin?

    Cheers!

My mother bought me the starter kit for Christmas last year. I used it up but won't be buying any more. It was ok... nothing to rave about. I suspect that it bleached my skin because it made it look paler (which suits me so I don't mind). If it had bleach in it then that would explain why it keeps bacteria levels down too. I suspect that all the natural ingredients were just in token amounts to make it sound healthier. The exfoliating granules were good... but not worth buying for... lots of other products are just as good.

Give it a go if you want... but personally I don't think it's that good for your skin or worth the cost.

If I really want my skin to improve I find that drinking more water and eating less sugar has the most profound effect.

I think there is another thread about it too... i'll have a look and link when i can find it.

yep its got some peroxide or something similar in it, if you read the fine print when they advertise it, it states to avoid sunlight when using it!

I have heard it's really harsh on your skin. I've haven't used it though. I go to my beautician, have them examine my skin and find the right type skin product for me.

I have to dissagree,,, i had TERRIBLe acne, never had a problem till i was about 23 then it was just UNBEARABLE!! i basically stayed in the house as much as i could for months till a friend of mine bought me pro-active. I had tried everything i could get my hands on, cheep to very expencive, diet etc and nothing worked, somethings made it worse!! then after two weeks of using pro active it started to look better, after 6 months all that was left were the scars and now after years (still use it) the scars have mostly gone and if i ever stop using it for a week or so i start to break out again!! i just couldnt live without it!!
sounds a bit extrem but if you have bad acne then you know how self consious you become!! i sound like an add but this totally gave me back my confidence!!!
I found that the cream you put on after the wash and tone a bit drying so i only use that at night now, and its fine. but like others said, it is harsh so would probably only use it if you REALLY need it.

I'm sure I've read in a review that it's really only best for bad acne prone or really oily skin. It can be too harsh for normal or combination skin.

Glad it's worked for you Bec!

Thanks for the responses lady. I don't have really bad acne, just a lot of blackheads and some redness. It's a new thing for me, I don't know if it's because my body's fertility might be returning(I'm breastfeeding). Also, my skin is combination type. It sounds like this wouldn't be the best thing for me!

    Cheers!
