I was after some ideas for food for #2's first bday. We are having morning tea in a park. I was planning on doing some kids party food - choc crackles, fairy bread and mini cupcakes.
Also was thinking of sandwiches, slices, fruit platter and some pastries.
I was in need of some fabulous sandwich recipes/combos - my repertoire is a bit limited to vegemite/cheese kiddy combos. Also interested in any other suggestions people may have for fingerfood for a crowd- there is no electricity available either!
Roast chicken meat
Toasted flaked almonds
Sour cream (keep adding till you get the taste/consistency to your liking)
Mayonnaise (keep adding till you get the taste/consistency to your liking)
Eschallots or chives
Whizz it in a food processor to a nice spread consistency.....I think that's all and you add thinly sliced cucumber on the sandwich as well for a bit of crunch!
You could do ham & cheese pinwheels using ready rolled puff pastry. Basically you spread the pastry with tomato paste, sprinkle ham/bacon and cheese, roll, slice then lay out flat and cook. Always a hit!
