anyone?
Hi ladies, I have some weight I want to shift. I looked into fitness first gym & the child minding was a plus with that one BUT I've heard too many horror stories about that place & have decided it's not worth the risk.
I then called Curves as theres one very local & its for woman only which is great. The down side is there's no child minding. The circuit is 30 minutes & it sounds pretty good to me. I'm going in tomorrow to have a look & ask any other questions I have.
Has anyone here used Curves or currently using Curves? I'd love to hear of your experience with them please
TIA
anyone?
Yeah for a monthI signed up for a month, just to check it out. It was fun the first week, then I got bored and I mean really, really bored. Even the music bored me. The exercise is too light (IMO) and I did not even break a sweat. Not what I wanted with regards to exercise. My mom on the other hand is a member and she loves it. She goes three times a week and it has helped her shift some weight AND (her top reason for going) helped her regain some fitness.
I was allowed to have a "tester " class. I would advise you to try just sign up for a month, see if you like it and then commit too a year.
Just to put it in perspective and sort of explain why it did not work for me, because it does work for other ppl ... atm I take muay thai classes. Three times a week for one hour of sweating, yelling and wishing you were not there, but enjoying every last second. I need too be in a class situation, not be left on my own to do my own thing. I need guidence and a strong hand![]()
eah I will be asking to do a tester first. Ideally I would love a personal trainer to really push me but I just cant afford one. I thought I could try this "circuit" thing at Curves as a starter & hopefully get fit enough & lose some weight at the same time to get into something more tough later on?
Hmmmmm decisions decisions!!!! I'll give it a test first of course
Thanks for your reply![]()
So??? How do you feel about it? Are you joining?
I went to Curves and used to own 5 clubs.. They are brilliant. When i went three times a week once i sold it I lost 30kg in 4 months.. its fab and you dont get sore.
Sorry I didnt update you all... I ended up joining body shape gym for woman. I did a tester at Curves but it just seemed too boring (the excersise felt like it was working though) but I wouldnt be motivated enough to go as it was filled with woman all over the age of 50 & we were all in a circle looking at each other, just not my cup of tea.
At body shape they also have child minding which I need & I got 3 personal trainer sessions thrown in too (that might be a special they're having or might be the norm, but I'm happy with it)
I've only had one session due to being busy the last couple of days & didnt feel sore the next day even though I was near dead by the end of it LOL (I'm so unfit) so I know I can push myself a little more next time![]()
Thats great - I'm glad you found a gym that suited your needs!!!
P.S - rest assured you don't have to come up sore after every workout for you to be gaining benefits.
Glad you found something you like
Happy training
