Sippy cups toddler cup advice

ds is 14 months and he has started chewing through his teats
i need a sippy cup that doesn't leak and has a firm end not soft like a teat any help or advice? they cost so much, i dont want to spend just to have to leave it up the back of the cupboard IYKWIM he curently has avent and close to nature bottles. any advice ?

Sorry I can't help. I was wondering the same thing actually.
I remember they had no spill hard type ones when DS1 was little, but can't seem to find anything like that now. We've been through a couple already, different brands too, and money is really tight lately so we can't really afford to keep replacing them either.

I have bought a few of the ones they sell at the reject shop. They have garfield prints on them. They are a hard sippy cup with a screw-on lid with spout, and they have a removable valve. I have personally found them heaps better and easier to clean than the expensive ones and the best part is they cost about $2 or $2.50 each.
Also, the take and toss ones are pretty good too. Can't remember if they leak, but if they do it'd be a very slow leak. I think you get about 4 for $9-ish.

Snacks, how do you get the reject shop garfield ones to work?!! If I leave the valve in, no liquid comes out. If I take it out, it leaks. Am I doing something wrong?!

exactly i was looking at ebay and with postage its still gonna cost 10 around for a cheapie,

might take Snacks tip and try the reject shop first.

some people dont like them but my girls like the heinz baby ones - got them at coles. they are very expensive, but dont leak. they have a thicker rubber bit that you drink out of, dont think you could bite through it.

You can buy hard Avent spouts that will fit right into the bottles. They are for the Avent Magic Cups but all Avent stuff is interchangeable. They are always at chemists.

There are 3 types - a softer white silicone "starter" teat (not what you would want if he is biting through teats), a hard green one with small holes (minimum spillage) and then a completely open yellow and clear version.

Jessica, with the valve in he has to suck it quite hard in order to get the liquid out. It doesn't come out otherwise. My DD will sometimes take these cups with water in to bed for that reason.
We started off with the Heinz ones, but they are quite expensive and the rubber bit can get chewed to shreds if you've got a chewer of a kid. I found the valves hard to clean and they ended up getting mouldy. But I do like their stuff generally. (We still have a bowl with lid and spoon-holder - it is brilliant!)

HI, not sure if this is suitable but I got a 2 pack from Target for about $8 from memory?? Haven't got the pack still but the cup has 'the first years' on it. It has a hard plastic bit where they hold with their mouth/teeth and the silicone bit is inside the hard bit if that makes sense?? It also has a flip top that covers the spout to keep it clean and stop leaks. HTH
