When did your little one cut out day sleeps???

Olive is turning 1 tomorrow (woohooo) but seems to be cutting out day sleeps. We are lucky if she has an hour all day now and today she had ne sleep. Sleep seems to be an issue for her anyway (hates going to bed) but of late it's gotten worse.
So my question is when did your LO stop having a day sleep??? Did you persist and if so when did it click that they need the sleep?

DD has just dropped down to 1 day sleep. She will still have 2 if shes sick or has a crappy night.

DS still has a day sleep at 3 1/2! haha. He can go without.. but most days it's best if he does have a sleep.

DD is still going strong on her day sleep too.

My daughter is one in three weeks, and altho she isn't dropping all day sleeps, she's a real pain to get down for her arvo sleep, but seems way too grumpy without it so I'm wondering what to do also.

I'll be keeping an eye on this post!!

my ds1 went without one yesterday for the first time ever. he's 2 years old.

Both of mine still have 2 hrs - dd1 is 3yrs and DD2 is almost 20 months.

From my mothers group experience around 2.5 yrs onwards they have started dropping day sleeps - at 1yrs they still need them but may find it harder to get off as they're getting more stimulated by the world.

We went through this a few months ago, went from having two, two hour sleeps to one three hour sleep at about 13 months. She was getting to hard to get to sleep for the second day sleep and at night so she dropped one, she does get grumpy sometimes in the late arvo but we have a bit of quiet time and she is ok. sometime she still has two.

Jacob is one in 2 weeks and he still as 3-4 naps during the day! only one good sleep of about an hour or more though, the others are usually just 40mins.

Just persist with her having quite time. DS went through something similar but there was no way he was ready to give up his day sleep.

He will now sleep 2-3 hours without a doubt and is a little over 2yrs.

How much does she sleep overnight? There's a kid in our playgroup who slept for 13-14 hours overnight and she cut out her day sleeps pretty early.
Natalie is 2 years and 10 months and hasn't been having a day sleep at home for about 2 months now. It sucks. She'll usually nap on her 2 childcare days (I assume because all the other kids are) but the only way I can get her to sleep during the day is to take her for a walk in the stroller.
I persevered with putting her to bed for a while which did work, but I gave up when she started either crying/screaming non-stop for ages or started taking off her pants and nappy... I knew this would lead to poo painting and I really didn't want to deal with that.
So since she cut out the day sleeps, I make sure she goes to bed earlier and I get a relax in the evening (as long as Phoebe cooperates with that, LOL).
For your sake I hope she gets back into it - it's a long day when you don't get a rest time. GL!
